Monthly Meetings: we will hold monthly GSO meetings and coffee breaks July-Sept ->Change for this year: GSO meetings will sometimes be on Tuesday, sometimes on Wednesday, so MD/PhD students have the option to attend ->Still first week of month unless a conflict, still 12noon ->Just check email for the date/location announcement, or GSO calendar on website once updated End-of-year survey coming out soon ->SUPER important that you fill it out so that we have data to prove points to our deans, and so that we get the feedback we need to make improvements Need Microsoft Office on your home computer? ->Download for $10. OHSU updates Grad Council ->Our stipend increase will be decided upon tomorrow; high likelihood of passing ->Some new courses have been approved, including a Neuroscience Python course (Bradley B approved to faculty track) All-Hill: Alex will give update ->New All Hill Student Council leadership and spaces for a few more graduate student representatives (All-Hill needs 8 reps, 1 is GSO officer) -> Tim and Marc showed interest to represent, anyone else? Committee updates Tavita AVDS (we'll say it if she cannot make it) ->On June 1st AVDS in partnership with the Center for Diversity and Inclusion hosted middle school students from underserved neighborhoods. Thank you to all that gave lab tours and interacted with the students, they had a great time! ->Diversity and Inclusion Award are on June 12th ( someone else will probably say this) ->AVDS is taking over Vollum Happy on the last Friday of every month this summer and you are all invited! Our goal is to host regular events to help foster community between grad programs. Please contact us if you would like to get posters to advertise in your department! Erin Helms expressed interest. ->Diversity Advisory Council: Don't let the "brief description of why you want to run" be a deterrent! Put out the call two weeks ago, gotten 0 responses.
