NRSA Workshop -> Tuesday, October 16, 2018, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. @ Mac Hall 3198 -> Description: Learn about the non-research elements of an NRSA grant: Topics covered include how to set up your proposal in InfoEd, how to develop a budget, how to manage reference letters, biosketches, and other institutional forms, and elements of a great training plan. -> Led by Gavin Hamilton, grants and contracts administrator with the Office of Proposal and Award Management, and Rachel Dresbeck, senior director, OHSU Research Development Access the Columbia Employee store through this Sunday. -> Show badge, bring up to 4 guests. Employee pricing is usually 40-60% off. Tour the Primate Center at West Campus, 8am-1pm on Thurs, Sept 27. -> Description: OHSU's West Campus is home to the Oregon National Primate Research Center, Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute and some administrative and technical support offices, including Data Center West. This event provides an opportunity for OHSU employees to explore this beautiful 166-acre campus and the world-class research programs housed there. A free shuttle will be provided from the South Waterfront or free parking is available on site. Please register on O2! Committee updates Travel Award- Breanna -> Deadline for applications is this Friday (September 7), see the website for eligibility details and the application itself!Event News WIS- Hannah ->Lunch & Learn: The Scoop on Grant Writing, Part 2 ->September 18 from 12-1 pm in MRB 310 ->Description: Writing grants is not easy, but specifically thinking about how reviewers might view your proposal and addressing reviewers' comments to improve your grant can be a big challenge. This second part of the Grant Writing Series will feature a panel of students and post-docs, who have experience with grant writing and addressing reviewers' comments, and they will share their best practices and tips.
