1. Miscellaneous announcements a. Vote whether we want to stay at Suki's? 2. OHSU updates a. Grad Council (Kristof) i. Gilliam Fellowship Nominations… Deadline November 3rd, 2017. HHMI is accepting nominations for Advisory/Student pairs for the Gilliam Fellowship. Students must be 2nd or 3rd years in good standing, be T32 eligible, and have URM or disadvantaged backgrounds. Program Directors interested in putting forth a student for the Gilliam Fellowship should contact Jackie Wirz [email protected] . ii. Tuition flow between programs and schools. Tuition home programs pay $1000 per 3 credits to "course home" programs. Will make it easier for us to take classes outside of our programs. In effect already. iii. Most programs will be switching to not requiring the GRE for admissions. Probably 2018. b. March Wellness i. Will require locks on lockers or things will be removed ii. There are fall swimming, cycling, and running groups going on iii. They will have a zumba series coming up iv. Parking passes are still required for the gravel lot and are only good for 3 hours c. Library i. Please allow custodians to clean study rooms while you are using them ii. They are looking into starting a game collection where games will be available for check out. 3. Annual Mixer Happy Hour at OMSI is Wed November 8th 5:30-8pm! ii. This is a fun evening full of networking, chatting about science, and food & drink in OMSI’s fun Turbine Hall! iii. Student tickets are $5.
